Heather Webb
Founder of Fit To Be Wed and co-owner of EPEC Fitness. Heather is originally from Southern Pines, North Carolina and moved to the Charlotte area in 1998. She attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and graduated with a BS in Health Promotion and a minor in Exercise Science. After graduation, Heather worked for three years at the Harris YMCA in Charlotte, North Carolina as the Wellness Coordinator. In this position, she developed and implemented both exercise and nutrition based programs for various age groups for all YMCA members.
Heather has been a personal trainer since 2000. She has withheld a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) since 1999 and is a member of the IDEA fitness association. Heather believes that achieving overall fitness is a lifestyle and is more than just a physical image; it all starts with the right attitude. When Heather is not personal training she enjoys walking her dog, road biking, traveling and photography.
Thom Uhlir Co-owner of EPEC Fitness. Thom originally from Illinois, graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Health Education/Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Medicine. In 1991 Thom received his Masters Degree in Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has been in Charlotte’s fitness community ever since. Before opening EPEC in 1990, Thom worked as a high school PE teacher, in retail with Frank Shorter Fitness Wear in Chicago and Illinois, and in other various Health Clubs. Throughout his career Thom has consistently seen the desire in people everywhere of all ages to get fit and to become educated about fitness. This desire contributes to his enthusiasm for fitness which then translates in his ability to help people of various fitness levels achieve their lifestyle goals. When Thom is not personal training he enjoys spending time with his family, running and cycling.
Laurie Presutti
Laurie has been in the Fitness industry for over 20 years. She is originally from Rochester, New York and moved to Charlotte in 2000 with her Amazing 9 year old son Matthew. As a Certified International Fitness Coach she takes great pride in communicating and teaching her knowledge in the transformative practice of a lifestyle through wellness. With a compelling desire to inspire others, she brings a positive, encouraging and motivating spirit combined with a skilled background to every client and each session. When Laurie is not personal training she works at the Charlotte Running Co. and enjoys spending time with here family and friends, listening to music, working out, cycling, and running.
Jenni Sidden
Originally from Burlington, NC, Jenni is a graduate of UNC-Greensboro, with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Due to becoming increasingly interested in assisting others achieve their fitness/overall health goals, she obtained her ACE Personal Trainer Certification in February 2003.
Allison Modafferi Allison earned her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification at The Bodhi Tree in 2004 and is currently working towards her Anusara Teacher and Integrative Nutrition Certifications. She started practicing Vinyasa Yoga while living in New York after college, and discovered Anusara Yoga soon after moving back to Charlotte. The fun loving, heart centered style of Anusara Yoga speaks to her passionate, creative side, and inspires her teaching. In addition to teaching at EPEC Fitness, Allison teaches at Sangati Healing Arts and the YWCA. Her sessions are highly personalized, with a focus on your overall wellness needs and increasing strength, flexibility and balance, on and off the mat. Therapeutic yoga techniques also help with injury recovery, reducing pain and improving flexibility, range of motion and alignment. Allison's sessions are light-hearted, energetic and inspiring. When Allison is not teaching, she sings and plays in the local band Volatile Baby, practices Sanskrit chanting, and works as a mortgage loan originator.
Jacqueline Parkes
Jacqueline Parkes is a 1995 graduate of the Atlanta School of Massage and has passed the National Certification exam in massage therapy. Jacqueline draws from her knowledge of Swedish massage, Deep tissue, and Reflexology, Pre-Natal massage, and TMJ work to ensure each massage session is personalized to her client’s specific needs. She has acute palpation skills and intuition, which will help seed out the source of your pain. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Jacqueline was a professionally qualified Nurse.
Jessica Sell
Jessica joined the fitness industry after she personally went through a major lifestyle change. She lost 75 pounds, with the help of a nutritionist and a personal trainer, ended her career as a restaurant manager and in 2006 began working as a Lifestyle Coach for Motivated Results. Jessica worked directly under the supervision of Shannan Purser, RD and met with clients for consultations regarding prescribed meal plan accountability. She also performed VO2 max and RMR testing for Motivated Results until the company closed in 2008.
